FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — New Arkansas coach Bret Bielema has named a strength and conditioning coach, again tapping his former staff at Wisconsin to fill the position.

Bielema, who was hired earlier this month, hired Ben Herbert Tuesday to help get his team in shape.

Herbert, who also played for the Badgers, spent 11 years on staff and held the strength and conditioning position for the last four years.

Bielema says Herbert brings energy and passion to his work and that he uses a comprehensive fitness plan that goes beyond the weight room.

Bielema says Herbert's effectiveness showed in the fourth quarter of games and in late-season contests.

From 2009-2012, Wisconsin outscored opponents 435-309 in fourth quarters. And Wisconsin was 15-5 in games played in November or later, outscoring opponents 856-442 in those months.
