Oregon State quarterback-turned-receiver Seth Collins was on the sidelines for the Civil War rivalry game against Oregon, two weeks after he was hospitalized for an undisclosed illness.
Collins fell ill following the Beavers' game at UCLA on Nov. 12 and was hospitalized the next day. He was released on Thanksgiving Day.
Oregon State coach Gary Andersen could not discuss the illness citing privacy issues.
Before the game against the Ducks, some players started the Twitter hashtag #playfor22 in Collins' honor.
He was an honorary captain for the game.
To those people who came to see me while I was dying, I will always have a place for you in my heart. I found out some peoples true colors.
