TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- No. 14 Florida State nearly provided some excitement on the last play of the first half against Wake Forest.

After Wake Forest turned over the ball on downs at the FSU 40 with two seconds remaining, the Florida State offense had a final chance to come away with points. Deondre Francois rolled right and threw a bomb. The pass deflected off Wake's Jessie Bates and Brad Watson before Travis Rudolph got the deflection at the Wake 3. Rudolph though fell just short of the end zone when he was tackled by Bates and Thomas Brown.

Florida State had a 7-3 lead at halftime.
