Iowa used a pair of trick plays to overcome a sluggish start and grab a 17-13 lead over Illinois.

The Hawkeyes executed a perfect onside kick in the first quarter, although it didn't lead to any points.

But with the clock running down late in the first half, Iowa went with a fake punt that led to a first down. Akrum Wadley capped the drive with a 2-yard TD catch to put Iowa up four.
