Series Record: Alabama leads 2-0 (2007 win vacated).

Alabama would like to get in a better mood after its first loss of the season. More meaningful games for the Crimson Tide will be happening elsewhere involving the three remaining unbeaten teams standing in the way of a national title shot. Western Carolina, which plays in the FCS, can dream of a monumental upset to end coach Mark Speir's first season.

Alabama's offensive line versus Western Carolina defensive front. The Catamounts are allowing 332.2 rushing yards per game and have allowed 33 touchdowns on the ground, so the Tide can pound away as much as offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier wants.

Western Carolina: QB Troy Mitchell. The freshman's eight rushing touchdowns is a school record for quarterbacks. He has completed 60.4 percent of his passes and is the No. 2 rusher with 428 yards.

Alabama: RB T.J. Yeldon. Yeldon has lost two fumbles in the opposing team's territory the past two games, one on a botched handoff. He's also a very talented freshman with 754 rushing yards and a chance to rebuild his confidence and work on securing the ball.
