The Latest: Penn State has no records on new Paterno claim

PHILADELPHIA (AP) — The latest on Penn State and the Jerry Sandusky child sexual abuse scandal (all times local):

7:10 p.m.

Penn State says it doesn't have records from 40 years ago to help evaluate a claim former football coach Joe Paterno was told by a boy in 1976 that assistant coach Jerry Sandusky molested him.

The university says in a statement issued Friday a claim attributed to an insurance company in a coverage dispute with it amounts to allegations that aren't established facts.

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Austin Allen has been in this situation before, taking over at quarterback following the graduation of his older brother, Brandon.

The last time the younger Allen did so, he led Fayetteville High School to back-to-back state championships.

It's a scenario Arkansas' coaches would love nothing more than to see repeat itself on the collegiate level over the next two seasons, particularly after naming Austin Allen the Razorbacks starting quarterback this spring.

Alabama defensive line coach Bo Davis resigns

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) — Alabama defensive line coach Bo Davis has resigned.

Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban announced the resignation on Friday in a two-sentence statement. He didn't elaborate on reasons behind the decision.

Davis began his second stint coaching the line for Saban in 2014 after three seasons at Texas. He also was Saban's defensive line coach from 2007-10.

Clemson offense set to step forward, led by Deshaun Watson

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Clemson's defense made a strong impression on the NFL with seven players selected in last week's draft. Next season, it looks like Tigers offensive stars led by quarterback Deshaun Watson will take center stage when pro teams come calling.

ESPN draft analyst Mel Kiper Jr. expects Watson will be among the top NFL prospects next year should he give up his senior season.

And Watson won't be alone.
