No QB choice yet for Spurrier, Gamecocks

COLUMBIA, S.C. (AP) — Steve Spurrier said South Carolina's offense improved on Saturday, just not enough to show a clear frontrunner among the four players competing for starting quarterback.

The Gamecocks coach said he was happier with the offensive showing in the second stadium scrimmage of fall camp. However, he said Connor Mitch, Perry Orth, Michael Scarnecchia and Lorenzo Nunez didn't separate themselves in the race.

TCU returning Cameron Echols-Luper has left the team

FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) — TCU receiver and kick returner Cameron Echols-Luper has left the school.

Echols-Luper announced the decision on his Twitter account. TCU officials confirmed Saturday that the junior, whose father is the Horned Frogs running backs coach, is no longer in the program.

In his Tweet, Echols-Luper said he decided to begin a new chapter in his life with a "fresh start." He made no reference to where he was going.
