Kirk Gibson helped raise over $1.2 million through a fundraiser for the fight against Parkinson's disease.
The fundraiser included an event shortly before Michigan State hosted Notre Dame in football Saturday. Gibson played baseball and football for the Spartans before going on to a fine major league baseball career. He became part of the "Ring of Fame" at Spartan Stadium on Saturday.
Gibson was diagnosed with Parkinson's in 2015. The “Gibby and Friends vs. Parky” campaign has raised more than $1.2 million for the MSU School of Human Medicine. The money can help researchers fight Parkinson’s and other neurological diseases.
