Florida Atlantic's quick-strike offense was on full display early in the Conference USA title game against North Texas.
Lane Kiffin's Owls won the toss, took the ball to start the game and wasted no time chewing up big amounts of yards. The Owls had gains of 47, 49, 22, 44, 21 and 34 yards _ all in the first quarter.
And that doesn't even take into account a 29-yard kickoff return to start the game.
FAU averaged 12 yards per play in the opening quarter, one where the Owls had four different players complete a pass.
The Owls finished the first quarter with 263 yards.
