The winner of the game pitting the Big 12's top two offenses gets a spot in the Big 12 championship game next week. The loser could get in as well, depending on how other league games turn out. The Sooners also are trying to keep their College Football Playoff chances alive.


West Virginia RB Kennedy McKoy against Oklahoma's rush defense. McKoy has scored four touchdowns in his last two games and is coming off a season-high 148 rushing yards in a 45-41 loss at Oklahoma State. The Sooners have allowed a league-high 25 rushing touchdowns this season.


Oklahoma: QB Kyler Murray. The finalist for the Davey O'Brien Award as the nation's top quarterback and Maxwell Award finalist as the best player has averaged 88 rushing yards over his past three games. A year ago on the opening play from scrimmage he burned West Virginia on a 66-yard run. Murray is the seventh-leading rusher in the Big 12 with 739 yards. He's thrown for 34 TDs and run for 10 more.

West Virginia: LB David Long. The 5-foot-11 junior leads the Big 12 with 1.85 tackles for loss per game. He is West Virginia's leading tackler and was a semifinalist for the Butkus Award, given to the nation's best linebacker.


Oklahoma is the only Big 12 team West Virginia hasn't beaten since joining the league in 2012. ... In the teams' three previous games in Morgantown, the offenses combined for an average of 1,172 yards. ... West Virginia is trying to finish a season unbeaten at home for the first time since 2009. .... Seventeen West Virginia seniors will play their final home game. ... West Virginia's Will Grier, who ranks fourth nationally with 332.5 passing yards per game and has thrown for 33 TDs, also is a finalist for the Maxwell Award.
