Sure, Alabama’s seven-year run of winning the mythical recruiting national title ended but the Crimson Tide reloaded in the secondary.
The nation's top uncommitted prospect, cornerback Patrick Surtain Jr., signed with the Tide at a huge position of need. Alabama landed five defensive backs.
“We felt really, really good about the five guys that we were able to attract at that position and those guys are going to have a great opportunity to compete on our team,” coach Nick Saban said.
Alabama must replace six defensive backs, including All-America safety Minkah Fitzpatrick, safety Ronnie Harrison and cornerbacks Anthony Averett and Levi Wallace.

Surtain is the No. 6-rated player overall, according to the 247Sports composite rankings. He picked the Tide over LSU and Miami.
Surtain’s father, Patrick, played with the Miami Dolphins. He left as a free agent after the 2004 season and didn’t play under Saban.
He did have some words on Twitter for ex-LSU receiver Jarvis Landry, telling him to "watch your mouth" after a post alluding to Surtain picking Alabama over the Tigers.
