LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming senior free safety Luke Ruff has received one of the highest academic honors a college student-athlete can achieve. Ruff was named to the 2012 Capital One Academic All-America Division I Football First Team as selected by the College Sports Information Directors of America. He is the first Cowboy to earn the honor since Trenton Franz in 2004 and is one of only 24 football student-athletes at the Division I level to receive the honor this season. A native of Castle Rock, Colo., Ruff has achieved a 3.60 cumulative grade-point average in civil engineering. Ruff was one of only 24 football student-athletes playing at the NCAA Division I level to receive First Team Capital One Academic All-America honors this season.
