Baylor looks to rebuild after report on sex assaults

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — Baylor University will look to rebuild its reputation and perhaps its football program after an outside review found administrators mishandled allegations of sexual assault and the team operated under the perception it was above the rules.

The largest Baptist school in the U.S. took the first steps Thursday when regents demoted high-profile President Ken Starr, a former prosecutor who investigated the Bill Clinton-Monica Lewinsky scandal, and fired football coach Art Briles, who turned the football program from a laughing stock into a Big 12 powerhouse.

Confident Allen settling in as starting QB for Arkansas

FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) — Austin Allen has been in this situation before, taking over at quarterback following the graduation of his older brother, Brandon.

The last time the younger Allen did so, he led Fayetteville High School to back-to-back state championships.

It's a scenario Arkansas' coaches would love nothing more than to see repeat itself on the collegiate level over the next two seasons, particularly after naming Austin Allen the Razorbacks starting quarterback this spring.

Clemson's Seth Beer gaining attention with stellar season

CLEMSON, S.C. (AP) — Forget the long home runs, the walk-off hits or Clemson quarterback Deshaun Watson Tweeting in amazement about outfielder Seth Beer's stellar freshman season. Beer's father said his son's most eye-popping moment came as an 8-year-old when he deftly swiped a loose tooth from younger sister Savannah's mouth.

"Just reached in and snatched it out. We couldn't believe it," a still awed Michael Beer told The Associated Press. "To me, that's the legend of Seth Beer."
