The Georgia-Auburn SEC championship is the seventh rematch in the history of the game and the first since Auburn beat South Carolina 56-17 in 2010.
Auburn beat Georgia 40-17 on Nov. 11 at Auburn for No. 6 Bulldogs’ only loss of the regular season.
In the first six rematches in the SEC championship, the same team has won five of six times. In 2001, No. 2 Tennessee lost to LSU 31-20 in the SEC championship game after beating the Tigers in the regular season.
This is the first time the Tigers and Bulldogs have played for the SEC title.
