College Football Playoff championship game tickets will be hard to come by, of course.

Costly, too.

Half of the tickets in the 65,890-seat Raymond James Stadium in Tampa, Florida, will be allocated to the two schools in the game. Fans fortunate, or rich, enough to purchase those from the schools will pay face value.

For everyone else, it is going to cost a lot more to see the national championship decided on Jan. 9.

On the secondary market, the starting price for a pair of tickets, including fees, was nearly $1,700. That's a steep price is for upper-deck seats.
