After two years without football, UAB is back. With a vengeance.
On Saturday the Blazers beat Rice 52-21 to become bowl eligible at 6-3 overall.
UAB shut down football after the 2014 season for financial reasons. But the Blazers returned to the field this year with coach Bill Clark again at the helm (he also coached the Blazers in 2014). On Friday the school announced it agreed to a new 5-year contract with Clark.
The season even had it's own social media hashtag: #TheReturn.
After the victory over Rice, the team did a little ``bowling'' postgame in the locker room.
