Alabama tailback Damien Harris had his best game of the season _ in the first quarter.
Harris ran for 85 yards and two touchdowns for the top-ranked Crimson Tide Saturday against Vanderbilt before the opening quarter even ended in Nashville. He darted through a sizable hole and outran the Vandy defense for a 61-yarder and then punched in a 2-yarder.

Harris and backfield mate Bo Scarbrough hadn’t been workhorses in the first few games. Quarterback Jalen Hurts entered the game off two straight 100-yard games.
A 1,000-yard rusher last season, Harris’s best game so far had been a nine-carry, 73-yard effort in the opener against No. 12 Florida State.
Scarbrough also had his second touchdown run of the season in the first quarter to help Alabama race to a 21-0 lead.
