Jalen Hurts had his best passing day of the season _ in the first half.
No. 1 Alabama's sophomore quarterback completed 8 of 11 passes for 187 yards by halftime Saturday night for a 24-10 lead against Colorado State. He also ran for 64 yards, including a 27-yard touchdown.
Hurts connected for the longest touchdown of his career when he hit go-to receiver Calvin Ridley on a 78-yard pass. Late in the second quarter, he answered a Colorado State touchdown with a 52-yarder to Robert Foster. Foster caught it on the left sideline and raced toward the middle for his first touchdown catch since 2015.

Hurts passed for 96 yards against Florida State and 128 last week versus Fresno State.
Ridley's long touchdown in the first quarter moved him into a tie with Pro Football Hall of Famer Ozzie Newsome for fourth on Alabama's career charts with 16 TDs.
Ridley also became the Tide's fifth 2,00-yard receiver.
