The SEC is middle of the pack among conferences during the bowl season at 4-6.

It also has a trump card: Two teams in the national championship game.

Georgia and Alabama each won their College Football Playoff semifinal games, setting up an all-SEC title game.

The Big Ten was left out of the CFP, but the conference did pretty well in bowl games, going 7-1.

Iowa, Purdue, Michigan State, Northwestern, Ohio State, Penn State and Wisconsin all won their bowl games. Only Michigan lost, to South Carolina in the Outback Bowl.

The Pac-12 was at the other end of the spectrum. The conference had nine bowl teams and only Utah managed to win.
