WHAT'S AT STAKE?
LSU has 17 straight seasons with at least eight wins, the longest active such streak of any Power Five team. The Tigers can extend that streak to 18 by winning Saturday. Tennessee is seeking its first Southeastern Conference victory of the season. The Vols have never finished a season winless in SEC competition since the league formed in 1933.
LSU running game vs. Tennessee run defense: LSU's tandem of Derrius Guice and Darrel Williams could run wild against Tennessee. Guice and Williams have combined to rush for 1,531 yards and 15 touchdowns this season, and both went over the 100-yard mark in a victory over Mississippi. Tennessee is allowing 5.5 yards per carry and 256.9 yards rushing per game to rank 126th out of 129 FBS teams in run defense.
PLAYERS TO WATCH
LSU: Guice has come on strong these last few weeks. He rushed for 276 yards Oct. 21 at Ole Miss and ran for 147 yards and three touchdowns last week against Arkansas. He has run for 929 yards and nine touchdowns this season while averaging 5.7 yards per carry.
Tennessee: In an otherwise disappointing season for the Volunteers, punter Trevor Daniel has emerged as one of the nation's best players at his position. Daniel averages 47.1 yards per attempt to rank fourth nationally. He's on pace to break the single-season school record currently owned by Jimmy Colquitt, who averaged 46.9 yards per punt in 1982.
